HBOT Following a Medical Procedure
HBOT Following a Medical Procedure - Inspiring Choices Gold Coast
Some people access HBOT at Inspiring Choices following a medical or surgical procedure. This page describes what that context involves at our clinic, how the eligibility assessment works for post-procedure clients, and the importance of coordinating with your existing treating team.

Post-Procedure HBOT Context
Accessing HBOT in a Post-Procedure Context
A number of people who access HBOT at Inspiring Choices do so following a medical or surgical procedure. This includes individuals who have had elective procedures, dental surgery, or other interventions and who are accessing HBOT as part of a self-directed approach to their post-procedure period, and those who have been directed toward HBOT by their treating practitioner.
Inspiring Choices makes no claims about post-procedure outcomes. We provide access to supervised Tier 2 hyperbaric oxygen therapy in a TGA-registered hard-shell chamber, for clients whose eligibility assessment confirms HBOT is appropriate for their individual circumstances in the post-procedure period.
For clients accessing HBOT in this context, coordination with their existing treating team is particularly important. Our practitioners are experienced in working alongside external clinicians and welcome documentation from your surgeon, specialist, or GP as part of your assessment.

Eligibility and Coordination
Eligibility Assessment and Coordination With Your Treating Team
The eligibility assessment at Inspiring Choices is a non-negotiable first step for every new client. For those who have recently had a procedure, this assessment is particularly detailed. It reviews the nature of your procedure, the timeline since it took place, your current medications, any guidance provided by your treating surgeon or specialist, and your overall health picture.
We take a conservative approach to eligibility for post-procedure clients. If there are any aspects of your situation that require further clarity from your treating team before we can confirm suitability, we will raise this transparently during the assessment process. We will not proceed with HBOT if we have concerns about its appropriateness given your post-procedure status.
We strongly encourage anyone who has recently had a procedure to speak with their surgeon or specialist about their interest in HBOT before booking an assessment at our clinic. Bringing a referral letter or correspondence from your treating practitioner to your assessment is not required, but it is genuinely useful in the post-procedure context.

TGA-Registered Chambers
The Equipment You Are Accessing at Inspiring Choices
Inspiring Choices operates two TGA-registered hard-shell hyperbaric chambers at our Clear Island Waters clinic, both classified as Class IIb medical devices on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG 148448 and ARTG 511953). Both chambers are Tier 2 units, pressurised to 3.0 ATA and delivering 99.8% medical-grade oxygen via compressed cylinders throughout the entire chamber environment.
A trained hyperbaric technician is present in the room for the full duration of every session. Our facility is equipped with full fire suppression systems. The equipment meets the standards required for supervised clinical use in Australia, as required for TGA registration as Class IIb medical devices.
Clients and practitioners who want to understand exactly what equipment Inspiring Choices operates can find detailed specifications on the Our Chambers page, including TGA registration numbers, chamber tier, and oxygen delivery method for each unit.

Integrated Clinic Environment
Supporting Your Post-Procedure Care Within a Multi-Discipline Clinic
Inspiring Choices is not solely an HBOT facility. Our Clear Island Waters clinic brings together hyperbaric oxygen therapy, naturopathy, IV therapy, chiropractic, osteopathy, HOCATT, and functional neurology services under one roof, coordinated by a team that shares your clinical information and communicates across disciplines.
For clients in the post-procedure period, other modalities available at the clinic may be relevant to their broader circumstances. Naturopathy and IV therapy, for example, are accessed by some clients alongside their HBOT sessions. Any additional modalities are discussed at the eligibility assessment and incorporated into a coordinated care plan where appropriate.
The ability to access multiple modalities within a single clinic environment, managed by a team that communicates across disciplines and is aware of your full clinical picture, is one of the key differences between accessing HBOT at Inspiring Choices and accessing it at a standalone HBOT-only facility.
