HBOT in a Wound Care Context
HBOT in a Wound Care Context - Inspiring Choices Gold Coast
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is used in clinical wound care contexts internationally. At Inspiring Choices, clients who access HBOT in this context do so within a supervised, TGA-registered facility at our Clear Island Waters clinic, with an eligibility assessment and clinical coordination as the foundation of their care.

HBOT and Wound Care Context
HBOT in a Wound Care Context - Who Enquires and Why
People who access HBOT in a wound care context at Inspiring Choices include those with wounds that are part of an existing medical situation managed by their GP, a vascular specialist, a wound care nurse, or another qualified clinician. Some arrive with a referral from their treating practitioner; others self-refer after speaking with their doctor about their options.
Inspiring Choices does not operate as a wound care clinic and does not provide wound management or wound closure services. What we provide is access to supervised HBOT sessions in a TGA-registered hard-shell chamber, within a professional clinical environment, for clients whose eligibility assessment confirms HBOT is appropriate for their individual circumstances.
If you are accessing HBOT in a wound care context, your existing treating practitioners remain responsible for the clinical management of your wound. Our role is to deliver the HBOT component of your broader care, coordinated transparently with your treating team where appropriate.

TGA-Registered Equipment
The Clinical Standard of Our Equipment
Inspiring Choices operates two TGA-registered hard-shell hyperbaric chambers, both classified as Class IIb medical devices on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG 148448 and ARTG 511953). Our chambers are Tier 2 units pressurised to 3.0 ATA with 99.8% medical-grade oxygen delivered via compressed cylinders throughout the entire chamber environment.
This is a meaningful distinction for clients and practitioners who want to confirm that the equipment at a facility matches what they had in mind when they first enquired about HBOT. Soft-shell Tier 1 chambers, common in wellness settings, operate at significantly lower pressures and use oxygen concentrators rather than compressed cylinders. They do not deliver the same pressure or oxygen concentration as a Tier 2 hard-shell chamber.
A trained hyperbaric technician is present in the room for the duration of every session at our Gold Coast clinic. Full fire suppression systems are in place throughout the facility.

Assessment and Coordination
How Our Assessment and Coordination Process Works
The eligibility assessment at Inspiring Choices is the first step for every new client. For those accessing HBOT in a wound care context, the assessment reviews your health history, the nature and history of your wound, your current medications, and any existing management plan from your treating practitioners. Where relevant, documentation from your GP, specialist, or wound care team is reviewed as part of this process.
Our team has experience coordinating with external clinicians and can communicate with your treating practitioners during your program where appropriate. If there are contraindications to HBOT based on your individual circumstances, the assessment is designed to identify these before any session begins.
You do not need a referral to book an assessment at our Clear Island Waters clinic, though referral documentation from your GP or specialist is welcome and useful in the assessment process.

Integrated Clinical Environment
A Professional Clinical Environment on the Gold Coast
Inspiring Choices has operated as an integrative health clinic on the Gold Coast since 2011. Our Clear Island Waters facility brings together hyperbaric oxygen therapy, naturopathy, IV therapy, chiropractic, osteopathy, HOCATT, and other modalities under one roof, coordinated by a team that communicates across disciplines and shares your clinical information.
For clients accessing HBOT in a wound care context, the availability of naturopathy and IV therapy within the same clinic can be relevant to the broader circumstances of their care. Any additional modalities are discussed at the eligibility assessment and incorporated into a coordinated care plan where appropriate.
Our practitioners are aware of the full picture of your care at the clinic. Your case is managed collaboratively rather than in isolation, and your progress is monitored throughout your program.
